SPACE AND ROCKET MUSEUM

Visitors may sign up for a modified version of astronaut training or, take a quick campus tour to see the many artifacts that made this a centerpiece of the Space Race during the 1960s! The U.S. Space and Rocket Center, located in Huntsville, is Alabama's top tourist attraction. The Center, which opened in 1970 as NASA's first visitor center, includes a Space Camp, museum, Aviation Challenge and X-Camp. It is also famously known as a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark.

BOTANICAL GARDENS

111 acres of exquisite gardens, located 1 mile from the U.S. Space and Rocket Museum. Huntsville Botanical Gardens is one of the most visited attractions in the entire state of Alabama. A breath taking place with the perfect picture landscape for weddings and special events. It is known for its Butterfly House, different varieties of plants and exhibits, along with the numerous yearly events and educational programs offered. During the Christmas holidays, you don't want to miss the drive through Galaxy of Lights display!

MONTE SANO STATE PARK

Monte Sano sits on 2,140 magnificent acres with spectacular views from atop the mountain, attracting people with the 20 miles of hiking trails and the 14 miles of biking trails to enjoy. From picnic areas, camping, planetarium observations at the VBAS, to special events atop the mountain, Monte Sano Park is a place with many enjoyable things to do.

BIG SPRING PARK

Located in the heart of downtown Huntsville, next to the Von Braun Center and the Huntsville's Art museum is the Big Spring International Park. Built around its famous name "Big Spring", the original water basis that the city of Huntsville was built around over 200 years ago! Take a long stroll through the enchanting Big Spring Park following the large pond and feed the koi fish, ducks and geese! Special events are held in the park such as; the Panoply Arts Festival, and Concerts in the Park. At Big Spring Park, you're in the middle of everything!

Huntsville's Museums

The Huntsville area is home to numerious museums. The most popular in the state being the Space and Rocket center, followed by several other exciting and interesting venues such as the Cook Museum of Natural Science, the Huntsville Art Center and the Huntsville Veteran's Museum. Not only will these museums inspire the young minds of today but they will help foster, educate and remind our citizens of our past history and achievements.

The Huntsville Museum of Art sits in Big Spring Park, the center piece of the energetic and growing city which is located in downtown Huntsville, Alabama. This museum has seen a large expansion the past few years. The art and exhibits continuously changes which makes it a great place to visit multiple times of the year.

Cook Museum of Natural Science

Huntsville's best high tech natural science museum is located in downtown Decatur, Alabama - just west of Huntsville. There is large salt water aquarium, numerious science projects and many more hands on exhibits to explore. Your kids will leave the Cook Museum understanding a lot more about science and nature!

Huntsville Veteran's Museum

Walk back in time to the authentic history of the U.S. soldiers and learn their stories, while receiving a glance of the journey they traveled. Filled with authentic war time military equipments such as army tanks, jeeps and weapons. A great place for the entire family to learn about America history and its heroes.

Cathedral's Caverns

Located in Marshall County which is 40 minutes east of Huntsville, Cathedral Caverns is a unique place to visit! The caverns maintain a comfortable 60 degrees temperature year round; which makes a comfortable all day event along with a nice relief from those dog days of Summer! Besides the remarkable sites of the Caverns there are 493 acres of hiking trails available for those wanting to enjoy the outdoors!

Von Braun Center

The Von Braun Center, also known as the VBC, is Huntsville's largest comprehensive event space with more than 170,000 monumental square feet of flexible meeting, exhibit and performance areas. Centrally located in the beautiful downtown Huntsville near hotels, shopping and restaurants, while overlooking the stunning beauty of Big Spring International Park! The Von Braun Center is the place for banquets, receptions, sporting events, concerts, shows, ballets, along with other numerous venues.

Harmony Park Safari

Just a fun day for the entire family

Located just east of Huntsville. Get ready for an up-close encounter with safari animals at Harmony Park Safari, which is home to many amazing animals that you don't typically find at a petting zoo to enjoy! Huntsville Train Depot

train An active passenger station until 1968, the Huntsville Depot Museum played a major role in our transportation and is now a place to learn and enjoy! For all the train hobbyist and those who want to learn about the history of Huntsville, it's a place to visit!

Early Works Museum

Tate Farms

tatefarms The fun filled Tate Farms has 6,000 acres of family owned and leased farm land, famous for their unique pumpkin patch, where there is 80 acres of pumpkins and special gourds, oh my! That's just the beginning, there's hayrides to the pumpkin fields to pick a fresh pumpkin off the vines, cute little pedal carts, petting animal area, jumping pillows, barnyard playground and an amazing Cafe & Collectibles store.

Huntsville Constitution Hall Park

Take a journey back into time during 1819 by visiting Constitution Hall Park. The newly renovated and restored park offers a place for the community to honor Alabama's statehood. The park is a place to gather with open green spaces, retail outlets including a gift shop and a Piper and Leaf Artisan Tea Company location.
