Top Antique Stores in Huntsville

antique store

When my husband was in the Air Force we were stationed at Mildenhall AFB in England. At the time we were pretty poor and did not have much money to spend on nice furniture. We decided to buy cheap end furniture at the local ‘brick-a brac’ shops. At the time we didn’t know the value of a 60 to 80-year-old pieces of history. It was just cheaper than the new stuff. As the months and years went by, we started to buy older and better quality Victorian antiques. Before long, our entire house was filled with beautiful antiques. Since those days, we rarely buy antiques but it’s still fun to visit these unique antique stores. While EBay has taken a lot of the hunger and enjoyment in finding that rare piece, you can still come across those hidden treasures. Below are my favorite Antique stores/malls.

Local Antiques Stores:

#1 Hartlex Antique Gallery

Those who are interested in real antiques, meaning antiques that are 100 years or older, then Harlex will not disappoint. This top of the line antique gallery is the largest high-end store located in the southeast. With over 32,000 sqft of museum quality furniture, jewelry, pottery, vases, light fixtures, silver, books, primitives and collectibles to name a few, this antique store has something for any avid collector. The store owners and numerous dealers do their best to find and stock many rare and unique pieces.

For myself, I was very impressed with their huge selection of art paintings, many of which are from well-respected artists. No wonder why Harlex attracts so many collectors from Nashville, Atlanta and throughout the region but if you are not into art paintings, then you’ll be just impressed with their high-end furniture which include both American-made and European-made antiques.

The owners are very friendly and even offered me a glass wine during a tour of their beautiful and impressive show room. Trust me, if you are serious about filling your house with gorgeous high-quality antiques, then Harlex is your one stop place. There is something for everyone at Harlet Antique Gallery!

Some antique stores have a lot of junk and modern items but this antique store is filled with high end antiques and rare items. Inventory is always high and prices are fair. Customer service is awesome and the people really go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
